TRAIN THE TRAINER WORKSHOP

Second Annual Training Scheduled: September 7, 2019

To help promote dissemination of culinary medicine to other institutions, the Osher Center and Common Threads have partnered to host a Train-the-Trainer workshop, where prospective schools and organizations can learn the process of implementation, needed steps for success, and acquire the existing curriculum for use in their own institution.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

DATE: Saturday September 7, 2019

 

LOCATION: Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Feinberg Pavilion, 251 E. Huron St. in Chicago, IL

TIME: 9 am - 5 pm

FACULTY: The training will be led by the CUH authors and instructors, Dr. Melinda Ring (Osher) and Chef Stephanie Folkens (Common Threads).

AGENDA: This workshop will include sessions on:

  • preparing to successfully implement CUH in its full format or abbreviated options

  • accessing the curriculum and resources

  • participating in a sample cooking class

  • experiencing various parts of the lessons and

  • an opportunity to ask questions and explore the course as a group

  • NEW: a breakout for cook instructors on how to teach culinary medicine

 

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

  • Hands-on Cooking Classes for Lunch and Snacks

  • Support for post-workshop implementation in your own institution

COST: $500 for 1 attendee; $850 for 2 attendees; $1100 for 3 attendees (per institution). The cost of registration and access to the full curriculum is subsidized through a generous grant from the Weil Foundation.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Registrants will be provided with local hotel options within walking distance of the workshop and a Northwestern discount code.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Faculty from health professional schools - including but not limited to medical, nursing, physician assistant, physical therapy, complementary/integrative health profession schools. New for 2019: Chef instructors interested in learning how to teach culinary medicine.
